As Avid Elite resellers, we’re promising some surprises in our file-based workflow demonstrations at BVE North. Encompassing video capture, post production, delivery and archive, the workflow utilises the latest Avid tools integrated with other best-of-breed technologies.
Products featured in the workflow will include DVS Venice, the ingest server enabling the real-time capture and play-out of popular broadcast formats including Avid DNxHD, Panasonic AVC-Intra, DVCPRO and Sony XDCAM. Venice supports Avid Storage Area Networking and the Interplay Media and Production Asset Management System. Consequently, Venice has established itself as the central ingest system in many heterogeneous broadcast environments. The ability to work with Avid systems allows live video ingest and output via HD–SDI as well as file ingest of Professional Discs and P2 storage media.
ContentAgent, our very own file-based management, transcoding and delivery platform from ROOT6 Technology, seen with new V3.1 software at BVE North, now supports a completely automated Avid workflow. Encode files into the Avid DNxHD MXF format, choose the Interplay folder (and shared storage workspace) and files will then be automatically checked into the Avid Interplay database. These files can then be opened by any Avid editing system connected to the Interplay database providing the most efficient path to collaborative editing.
ContentAgent also provides the portal for archiving which we’ll show using the scalable and secure management system from XenData – a flexible software solution which presents the digital archive as a standard Windows file system enabling it to be used by multiple applications. XenData stores video files to secure LTO data tape.
Some additional new products supporting Thunderbolt will also be featured.
“Visitors to our stand at BVE North will get the opportunity to experience some exciting and not-to-be missed new technologies,” asserts John Harris. “In addition we’ll be holding a seminar ‘Cash in on your Content’ which will present some significant opportunities for those seeking to capitalise on their digital library.” The seminar will be held at BVE on Thursday November 17 at 1.15pm.
In addition to product specialists, visitors to the root6 stand will also have the opportunity to discuss specific projects with our workflow designers. Technical support, from a single bay to complex facility-wide installations is also available so come and talk about your specific requirements. We look forward to meeting you.
