With multi-format track capability and handy input devices such as the optionally available trackball colour correction panel, CLIPSTER® offers unsurpassed ease of use.
Ingesting and conforming data
CLIPSTER® can handle any type of media in any resolution, bit depth, colour space or file format in real time. With its standard HD-SDI dual-link interface, 2K video from a telecine can be captured via HSDL. For SAN environments, DVS offers a central storage unit – the DVS-SAN – which can be used in combination with CLIPSTER® to provide end-to-end functionality for your entire DI workflow. If the project demands offline editing, CLIPSTER® can conform your data either by batch capturing or auto conforming from an EDL up to 4K.
Innovative data management by Spycer®
For optimal file management, CLIPSTER® features media management based on DVS’ new content management system Spycer®. With this application filenames and metadata of clips can be searched, shown and easily edited as well. Intelligent copy and defragmentation tools from DVS are managing the data on the hard drives in a perfect way for getting high performance.
Creating real-time emotions
CLIPSTER® works with multiple resolutions in real time, and a whole range of effects can be applied: primary and secondary colour correction, rotation, flip/flop. Zooming and panning, cropping and transitions work in real time. CLIPSTER® is supporting the OpenFX plug-in interface for extending the effect feature set. Such extensive functionality, creative speed and simple handling make editing a joy and inspire creativity. Its open platform captures video as graphic file sequences directly into the Microsoft NTFS Windows® file system. CLIPSTER’s open architecture supports most popular compositing and restoration tools.
Finishing and versioning
CLIPSTER® has an extensive tool set for finishing and last-minute changes. The unit’s real-time colour correction, editing, cropping and its zoom and pan capabilities are designed for maximum efficiency, with the added benefit of being able to tackle everything with a single system – including versioning of the completed film in real time. Using the huge file format support of CLIPSTER® allows to create QuickTime, Windows® Media Files, MXF or JPEG2000 sequences even in X’Y’Z’ colour space for a Digital Cinema delivery.
