SIENNA
SIENNA is a family of technologies from Gallery to facilitate an efficient and fully integrated QuickTime and MOS based news workflow when used with MOS News Systems such as ENPS, alongside a Final Cut Pro based QuickTime media infrastructure. SIENNA offers unprecedented functionality, for a complete and efficient workflow, with performance and capabilities exceeding traditional systems costing many times more.
Sienna consists of 8 functional modules, each performing a specific
role. The system offers the broadcaster a cost effective, flexible
and scalable installation.
- PictureReady unlocks the potential of QuickTime as a real time architecture for news and other live action, by facilitating real time replay and editing of content, ‘as it is recorded’.
- OriginOne is the central data hub for the Sienna infrastructure. One of its primary functions, is a powerful MOS gateway between news management systems and the Sienna QuickTime media infrastructure.
- MediaServices is a companion server to complement OriginOne, performing a range of advanced storage and media processing tasks for more sophisticated infrastructures.
- AutomationX provides live assist playout automation for the Sienna workflow. Using Sienna IP Protocol running over ethernet, AutomationX controls multiple VirtualVTR channels, to deliver your finished show smoothly and reliably.
- IngestControl offers a multichannel networked remote control panel for larger installations, which connects to 8 or more PictureReady ingest channels from a single remote computer desktop.
- StoryCut adds MOS Story functionality to Final Cut Pro along with seamless Sienna media integration. This Module allows the craft editor to browse the News System running orders and stories (via OriginOne), and then view the story text whilst editing in Final Cut.
- GraphicArtist (available early 2008) leverages the phenomenal power of Apple's Quartz Composer architecture, to deliver world-class real time motion graphics and titles.
- VirtualVTR provides the QuickTime play-out channels for your media workflow. Supporting all formats of SD and HD QuickTime natively without the need to transcode, VirtualVTR plays original and edited media from your shared storage directly to air, even supporting Quicktime reference movies.
