Avid Unity

Clear Cut Upgrade with 64TB Unity

Clear Cut Pictures is to upgrade its current Storage Area Network (SAN) with an Avid Unity comprising a massive 64 Terrabytes of storage and running on a fibre network to maximise speed and throughput.

The West London one-stop facility, which counts the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 among its clients has a long history of work in Drama, Documentaries, Game Shows and Magazine programming.

The new SAN represents part of what CEO Horacio Queiro describes as a general facility overhaul. “We offer both Avid and Apple FCP- based editing and the new SAN, along with upgraded Avids will enable clients to work at maximum resolution at all times with the obvious advantages of sharing media between suites and streamlining file-based workflow. In today’s market the ability to deliver cost savings is crucial and our investment in the new installation will help us meet this objective.”

The Unity network was supplied through re-seller root6 which will also provide ongoing technical support.
