ROOT6 AT BROADCAST VIDEO EXPO

ROOT6 DEMONSTRATES BOTH KIT AND CAPABILITY

Broadcast Video Expo, London, February 17 2009... in addition to demonstrating the latest editing and finishing technologies from Apple and Avid, leading reseller root6 will host a number of technology seminars, have support and systems integration staff on hand, and show important new cost-saving technologies from StorageDNA and XenData.

SAN experts from root6 will be present to discuss the benefits of Apple Xsan and Avid Unity deployment, and to outline the workflow benefits that may achieved through Apple Final Cut Server and Avid Interplay asset management.

ContentAgent, the universal content repurposing platform from ROOT6 Technology, will also be shown with the latest 2.45 software making it the perfect solution for those working in RED dailies workflows in addition to other transcoding-intensive environments.

DNAsync from StorageDNA is a perfect file-transfer solution in Storage Area Networks where it ensures data synchronisation and cost-effective mirroring on affordable media.

For archiving, XenData software manages one or more automated data tape libraries on a single Windows server for cost-effective, reliable operation optimised for broadcast and post.

Contributions to the BVE seminar programme from root6 cover a variety of topical subjects. Rupert Watson asks ‘Are you playing Russian Roulette with your data?’

Graham McGuinness examines issues involved with RED workflow in the DI environment and John Harris tackles an extremely pertinent topic, ‘Credit Crunch Production.’

BVE will also see the launch of a new equipment catalogue from root6 which, in addition to a raft of useful and popular technologies, includes hints and tips for those at the coal face. A competition to win a ‘Dash round Brands Hatch’ in a Lotus Elise – which makes an appearance at the show courtesy of root6 Workflow Engineer and owner/driver David Skeggs – will be open to show attendees.
