A key principal, we’ve supported Avid from the outset – hardly surprising as all the original root6 founders worked for the company! We believe in the capabilities of the products and our understanding translates into the ability to set things up so they can work most effectively in customers’ workflows.
Graham McGuinness, root6

We’re proud to be one of the few companies in the world to be granted Avid Elite Reseller status and are the leading UK Avid reseller for Interplay.  As such, root6 embodies a unique understanding of workflow practice from ingest though editorial and finishing, tiered storage and delivery.

Our role as knowledge aggregators extends from pre-sales advice to post sales technical support. We’re able to draw on real-world examples to help steer customers in the right direction and help with workflow design. In support, our experience of regularly encountered issues helps to provide more rapid resolutions. In many cases these are achieved much faster than by those working on their own.

We are delighted to have been awarded Avid Learning Partner (ALP) Professional status, which enables root6 to provide Avid certified courses varying in length from 1-3 days for editors, engineers, system administrators and media managers.

During this 4-hour course, students gain essential knowledge about interacting with the Avid Interplay workgroup environment through the editing application. This course is designed for new or experienced editors using an Avid storage solution with NewsCutter or Media Composer and the Avid Interplay non-linear workflow engine. Students will also be shown the other Interplay applications which may be part of the workflow where applicable.
This 3 day course is designed for administrators responsible for the setup and day-to-day operation of components in an Avid Interplay workgroup environment. Students learn how to administer the Avid Interplay Engine and Avid Archive Engine (if applicable), and how to work with databases in the system. Additional topics include naming conventions, deletion strategies, deletion protection, daily and weekly maintenance, and archiving. This course (or equivalent experience) is a required pre-requisite of the Interplay ACSR path.
In this 2 day course students will learn how to administer their Avid ISIS 5000 system. We will review how to replace a failed data drive and configure storage groups and workspaces. Students will also learn basic maintenance and troubleshooting on the System Director and ISIS Chassis hardware.
In this 3 day course, Students focus on the installation, administration, and architecture of Avid ISIS 5000, learning to connect, configure, and troubleshoot the system. Lab work and exercises give students practical experience in integrating systems and applying troubleshooting techniques. This certification course culminates in an exam. Candidates meeting the Avid ACSR Program pre-requisites and who pass the exam are Avid Certified Support Representatives (ACSR) for Shared Storage.
